Birdwatching

We organise guided boat trips around the Pelican Island, the wetland and the mangrove area which are famous for their abundant bird life.

You can can choose a dugout boat, a rowing boat, or a motor boat. If you can row you can go alone.

Sitting outside on our restaurant deck gives you a wonderful opportunity to see a vast range of birds including herons, kinfishers, pelicans ,egrets, etc. as they make their to & fro transits between The Gambia and Senegal ( Casamance Region )

Fishing & River Cruising

You can always join our fishing crew as they fish and cruise through the beautiful nature of river Halahin OR you can just try your luck fishing from our deck while you enjoy a refreshing cold drink.

Oyster Farming
Oysters are rare and delicious. Within the south of The Gambia and southern Senegal there is a long tradition of farming this highly valued seafood. The people of the “JOLA” tribe are the ones that involve in this practice and therefore they have been passing the knowledge and skills from generation to generation, also introducing the practices to many more tribes. During the years new and better methods have been invented, Here in kombo south region the latest method involves the tying of a rope on sticks leaving it hanging so the oysters could climb up. For sure it is worth visiting the special oyster farms and sees how it’s done!
